after-school programs

Sneaky Cats & Bunnies – Pre k – Sneaky cats and bunnies, using problem solving puzzles, will learn focus, listening and attention through the safety of games and stories. We will also create our own stories (using Fairy Tales) and find challenges to work thru together as a team.  These skills will develop individual and social needs, the perfect introduction into kindergarten!

Hero’s Quest – Pre k – 2 — Save the princess from the Dragon, trick the pirates into giving you their map, or dive deep underwater to find the lost artifact, a new and exciting adventure is waiting for you every week! Come along and discover that the only limitation is one’s imagination.

Story Drama – k – 2 – SneakyCat kids will learn how to create wondrous landscapes to tell any story. They will have fun working and growing as an ensemble to make every story come alive.

Imaginary Creatures – k – 2 – Put your imagination into action! Join us as we create our own magical creature-characters and weave together our own, one-of-kind story- play. We will use creative movement, theatre games, improvisation, storytelling and music.

Let’s Make-Up – all ages – A fun (and potentially messy!) workshop where students learn the use of make-up to create characters from standard make-up to applying beards, inventing a clown face, crafting believable scars and injuries, and advanced age. You may be surprised whom you take home after class!

Stage Skills – grades 3-5 — Expand your performance skills and have a blast discovering your hidden talents. practice theatre lingo; learn lines, blocking, back stage etiquette, etc. Bring your creative energy, an open mind and a willingness to perform and we will do the rest.

Intro to Acting – grades 3-5 — This class introduces the first steps in creating a character, working scenes, and understanding text. Through an atmosphere of support and fun, SneakyCat actors begin to lose their shyness, abandon their self-consciousness, and release their hidden potential.

Improv – grades 3-5 – Improvisation is an essential tool for all actors. Freed from the restrictions of established text, the actors’ true spontaneous creativity is stimulated and inspired. As Charles Darwin said “In the long history of humankind (and animal kind too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.”

Acting For The Camera – grades 3-8 – An on-camera class where the Sneaky Cat students learn the fundamentals of screen acting through a series of acting exercises using improvisation and physical tasks. The students will become familiar with screen acting terminology, and experience the difference between screen and stage techniques. Each class begins with a vocal and physical warm-up, and the course ends with a digital download of students’ work.

advanced training

Clowning Around – Discover your inner clown! Students will develop their own clown’s make-up, costume, character, and unique twist on their untapped goofball. With balloon twisting and magic tricks to boot!. To receive or not to receive a pie in the face, that is the question!

Stage Combat – Get your kicks and take some knapps! Learn stage fightin’ techniques that stress safety, commitment and believe-ability. After this course, you will know what “reckless abandonment” means!

Intro to the Master Class – Civilizations first playwrights did not write for the classroom, but for their audience to be entertained.  Their themes and ideas about human nature and our societies are still relevant today’s generation.  The SneakyCat actor will perform these ancient classics as well as scenes from contemporary plays those authors influenced.  In comparing and contrasting, actors discovered there is truly “nothing new under the sun.”

Play Intensives – SneakyCat intensives are week-long performance camps that challenge every actor’s creativity and team building skills.  The main focus of the intensive is the process, pushing participant’s boundaries so that they can discover their own gifts: self-esteem, problem solving and commitment.  all intensive culminate in a free performance for the family and friends.
